Thomas Ray Ellison, better known as Tommy to friends and Papi to his family, passed away very unexpectedly on Friday, December 2, 2022 at the age of 65. Tommy was born in Houston, Texas on July 5, 1957 to Ray and Lucy Ellison.
Tommy loved God! He knew Jesus Christ as his Savior and was proud to share his love for Christ with others! He was a long standing member of The Ark Church. He participated in the Ark Men's group every Wednesday evening. He found new friendships in a place where men come together to build a strong faith. He and his wife, Holly, enjoyed serving others through volunteering with their church family.
Tommy always put his heart into everything he did. He was a loyal employee and had an impeccable work ethic. He worked for Har-Con Mechanical, recently taking the position in February 2022. He was employed by Grant Sheetmetal for 26 years prior and the Harris County Sherriff’s Department before that. Tommy was a dedicated family man. His proudest job title was that of “Papi” to his three precious grandchildren, Sterling, Parrie and Irelyn. He enjoyed working with his hands doing gardening, woodworking or any DIY around the house. He enjoyed golfing, fishing and any outdoor activities.
Tommy is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Holly, children Robert Blair James, III and Erin Elizabeth Johnson and husband Seth, grandchildren, Sterling Luke, Parrie, and Irelyn Johnson, mother Lucy Ellison, siblings Stephanie Dyson and husband Skip, Allen Wade Ellison and wife Sharon, and Ray Allen Ellison and wife Stacy, nieces and nephews Jesse, Sam, Ben, Katie, Allen, Ashley, and Chandler, and numerous great nephew's, friends and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his father, Ray Allen Ellison and sister Gayle Francis O'Neal.
Tommy’s family will welcome visitors to Cashner Funeral Home on Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2022 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. A celebration of Tommy’s life will be held on Wednesday, December 14, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Cashner Funeral Home.
