Tommy Ward, age 73, passed on September 7, 2026. Born August 13, 1953, in Conroe, Texas, Tommy lived with steady courage and a gentle, kind-hearted spirit that made him deeply beloved and cherished by those who knew him. His life reflected devotion and faithfulness in the ways that matter most—showing up, caring well, and placing family and friends first, always.
Tommy attended Willis High School and later became the owner of T&R Services, earning respect through patient, thoughtful work and a loyal commitment to doing right by others. He was known for generosity and compassion, offering help in quiet, selfless ways, and for a warm sense of humor that could lighten a moment without ever diminishing its importance.
A lifetime member of the Montgomery County Fair Association, Tommy gave his time and heart in service on the Special Projects Committee, Fair Queen Committee, Executive Board, and Fair Association Golf Tournaments. He also spent many years as a member of the Lookers & Cookers Cook-Off Team, where his friendly presence and steady dedication were felt and appreciated.
Tommy married the love of his life, Betty Byrd, on October 18, 1990. They shared 36 beautiful years of marriage, creating a lifetime of memories, love, and family together. He was preceded in death by his father, Herbert Hoover Ward; his mother, Mary Elizabeth Brimberry; his brother, Donny Ward; and his son-in-law, Karl Smith. He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Betty Ward; his children, Gina Waller (Chris), Betty Jo Ward, Lori Smith, and Kerri Hilley (Matt); 10 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and his sisters, Dalene Rogers (Derald), Nadine Kossow (Mickey), Pat Gray, Fern Caddenhead, and Joy McBride (Brade).
A Visitation will be held at Cashner Funeral Home, 801 Teas Road, Conroe, TX 77303, on September 13, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
A Funeral Service will be held at Cashner Funeral Home, 801 Teas Road, Conroe, TX 77303, on September 14, 2026, at 2:00 pm, followed by a Committal Service at Cude Cemetery Road, Cude Cemetery Rd, Texas, TX 77318.
