Valda Lee Preuss

She was born September 18, 1927 to Robert and Irvin Singleton.

She is a member of China Grove Baptist Church in Willis, Texas. Valda served her Lord in the churches she was a member of. She was a Sunday School teacher at Port Street Baptist Church in Houston, Texas. She also worked with the children at Mims Baptist Church in Conroe, Texas. Valda served as a deacon’s wife along side her husband who was deacon at Mims Baptist Church.

Valda is preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Marvin Preuss; daughter Eunice Preuss; grandson Billy Iams; parents Robert and Irvin Singleton; Brothers Chesley, R.D., and Allison Singleton; nephews Rod Singleton and Bud Singleton.

She is survived by daughter Pamela Poland and husband Jim; granddaughter Vanessa Fitzgerald and husband Tim; great grandchildren Mina Souhaili and Noah Souhaili; nephews Norman Singleton, Glen Singleton, and Bobby Singleton. Numerous other family members and a host of friends are also left to cherish her memory. A special thanks to her best friend Joyce Warren and to China Grove Baptist Church for their love and support, and her hairdresser and friend Billie Tyson.

A Gathering will be held at Metcalf Funeral Directors, 1801 E White Oak Terrace, Conroe, Texas, on September 12, 2026, at 11:00 am, followed by a Celebration of Life at 12:00 pm.

A Graveside Service and Interment will take place at Conroe Memorial Park, 1600 Porter Road, Conroe, Texas, on September 12, 2026, at 2:00 pm.

Those serving as pallbearers are Mike Allen, Joey Preuss, Danny Preuss, Buddy Preuss, Josh Preuss and Matt Actchley. Honorary pallbearers are Charlie Fomby, Milton Knighton, Franklin Williams, Norman Singleton, and Glen Singleton.
