It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Virginia Mae Dunegan Love, who lost her battle with COPD on April 30, 2026. Virginia was 82 years old. She was a wonderful mother, daughter, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to so many. She died peacefully in her sleep with both of her daughters and son-in-law in her home in Willis, Texas.
Virginia was born on December 27, 1943, in Wichita, Kansas, and was raised in an environment supported by family and friends. Virginia is preceded in death by her father, George Handley Dunegan, mother Leotha Margaret Keefe, brother Garold Lee Dunegan, sister Marjorie Ann Dunegan, brother James Eugene Dunegan, brother George Michael Dunegan, sister Shirley Dunegan Rosa, sister Carol Joyce Bryant. Her family meant the world to her and trusting God with her whole being, she has prayed for her family till her dying breath.
Family was always at the heart of Virginia’s life. She is survived by her children, Lanette Marcellus and husband Paul of Willis, Texas, Robert Acreman and wife Jackie of Call, Texas, Sheryl Robinson and husband Jack of Cypress, Texas, brother Thomas H Dunegan, Major Retired and wife Jackie Martini of Montgomery, Texas, sister Patricia C Dunegan of Willis, Texas, and brother Richard L Dunegan and wife Roxanne of Austin, Texas. Other survivors include eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends, all of who will miss her dearly.
Virginia received her GED then started college later in life attending Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas. After leaving Lamar University, she moved back to Houston to further her career at Southline Equipment Company (Equipment Depot), where she worked approximately 45 years, retiring as a Parts Manager at 65 years of age.
Virginia attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church and served the church as Sacristan and volunteered for St. Vincent de Paul where she met many people who she loved and cared about deeply.
A celebration of Virginia’s life will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 109 N. Frazier St., Conroe, Texas, 77301 beginning at 10:30am. Friends and family are invited to attend and share memories in honor of her life.
Virginia’s legacy of love, laughter, and compassion will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. May she rest in peace.
