He went home to be with the Lord on June 3, 2017 in Cypress, Texas his earthly home for the last five years.
He was born October 15, 1925 in Brady, Texas, the 6th child of the late Zach Talmadge King and Laura Bell (DeBerry) King. He was raised in the Houston Heights, attended Reagan High School and later Graduated from the University of Houston. He served as a merchant seaman during WWII and the army during the Korean Conflict.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years Barbara June King of Cypress, Texas. Son Jeffrey Irl King and wife Jodi, Granddaughter Cheyenne King and Grandson Austin King of Cypress, Texas, Daughter Jennifer Tomkivits and Granddaughter Paisley Tomkivits of Conroe, Texas. One sister Laura Bess Burton of Marble Falls, Texas and, numerous nephews and nieces.
Services will be held at Cashner Funeral Home 801 Teas Road Conroe, Texas 77303 on June 7, 2017 at 10:00 am with Mr. Steve Yates officiating.
A private burial will be at 1:30 on June 7th at Woodlawn Garden of Memories, 1101 Antoine Houston, TX
