Wanda Cline Miller was born March 3, 1933 in Marlow, Oklahoma to loving parents Joe Cline and Hazel Grice Cline. She later welcomed to the family her younger brother Joe "Don" Cline, Jr. Her father's work in the oilfield took the family to Louisiana and West Texas before later settling down in Corpus Christi. Wanda discovered her love for music and the piano while in Odessa, Texas and after graduation from high school, already an accomplished pianist, she boarded a train for St. Louis, Missouri to attend the well known St. Louis Conservatory of Music. Later Wanda joined her family in Corpus Christi where she began her distinguished career, teaching piano to hundreds of students over the years. She married William "Bill" Miller in 1952 and in 1955 her life was forever changed by the birth of her beloved son, Clyde Richard. A loving mother, devoted to her son, she continued to teach piano out of their home; she was a concert class pianist and a fixture in the Corpus Christi and Texas Music Teachers Association for over fifty years. Her music was also an expression of her love for and faith in God and her Lord Jesus Christ, as she played the piano and organ for several churches in the Corpus Christi area. Wanda was also a fun and loving Mema to her two grandsons and they experienced many adventures together over the years. She was a true and faithful friend and it was hard for her to leave Corpus Christi to move to Conroe to be closer to her family. In Conroe she made new friends, continued to teach piano and enjoyed many special times with her family.
On February 6, 2015 our special Mother, Mema, Aunt and friend left behind a world of diabetes and pain to be with her Lord in Heaven. Preceded in death by her parents, brother, and daughter Sandra Jeanette Miller, she is survived by her son Clyde and wife Kathy, grandsons Alan and Jeff, wife Michelle, ex-husband Bill Miller, niece Lynn Vaughn and husband Ronnie, nephews Marty Cline, wife Sheila and Wayne Cline, numerous cousins and former students and teaching associates and many, many friends.
The family would like to thank all of the wonderful staff at Park Manor of Conroe for their attentive and loving care of this very special lady.
My heart is steadfast, O God, my heart is steadfast; I will sing and make music. Psalms 57:7
