The world became a better place when Warren Russell Madsen was born. He was born on December 19th, 1942 in Breckenridge, Minnesota to his parents Carl and Claudia Madsen. After 83 beautiful, fully-lived years he passed away on July 31st, 2026 here in Conroe, TX.
He worked on his family’s dairy farm throughout his childhood and school. He graduated from Waller High School, joined the military, and continued his education at A&M college. He earned his bachelor's degree in Education.
His passion was the military. He spent 26 years (and five months) serving our country in the United States Marine Corps. He continued his military education in Common Business Orientation Language and in The Marine Corps Command and Staff College. He poured his soul into the marines and eventually retired as a Major. After retiring, he began an entirely separate career working as the IT Systems Coordinator with the Conroe independent school district where he stayed for over 15 years until he retired for good.
Warren was the ultimate family man. He was the most devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, son, brother, and friend. He was so honored to marry his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Hellen Odell Madsen, at just 17 years old. They spent 52 unforgettable years together and their love was truly something to be in awe over. Together they shared 4 children, 6 grandchildren, and a lifetime full of memories.
Warren loved to travel and spent over 30 years travelling the world everywhere from Minnesota, to Japan, Cuba, Hawaii, Maryland, California, and plenty in between, he eventually settled down here in Conroe, Texas in 1986. He also enjoyed reading, watching sci-fi or strictly black and white old westerns. Throughout his retirement he was heavily involved in the Marine Corps League and has spent the last 13 years volunteering at the Montgomery County Sheriff's Department.
Warrens’ love, his lessons, his stubbornness, his selflessness, his sarcasm, his softness & heart will all live on through each of us. Warren was truly someone unforgettable and he will be missed forever.
Warren is preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Claudia Madsen, wife, Hellen Odell Madsen; daughter, Dawn Renee Madsen; granddaughter, Dawn Renee Madsen; sister Patty Ann Land and various other family members.
Warren is survived by his three sons, Scott Anthony Madsen and his wife Yvonne Madsen, Jason Robert Madsen, and Michael Shane Madsen and his wife Alicia Madsen; grandchildren, Tara Madden, Zoe Madsen, Connor Bailey, Vada Madsen, Ashton Madsen, Aeryn Tredway, Mina Welther, Anna Welther and Grayson Warren Madsen; great-grandchildren, Luca Russell Bailey and Briggs Noah Bailey, Gabriel Oden Madsen, Oliver Owen Madsen, Finley James Madden and Maylee Rose Madden; nephew, Joe Land and numerous other family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Cashner Funeral Home in Conroe, Texas.
The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, August 7, 2026 beginning at 11:00 AM at Cashner Funeral Home in Conroe, Texas with a graveside service immediately following in Garden Park Cemetery.
