Warnke Family very sorry for ya'lls loss of a great man. I worked on the other side of downtown at 8's A on the old shift back in the 70's.

Dear Warnke family, I am so saddened to hear about Wes' passing.  I have fond memories throughout the years at HFD and at Station 1 when Wes was EMS Asst Chief.  Wes always spoke with such love for his family.  I pray that your faith and dear memories are a source of comfort to you all.

Just found out my friend is gone. Wes's advice and counsel when I was learning the ropes as a novice at representing police officers at the state capital Is something I've always appreciated. Wes's calm demeanor channeled my anger and rebellious instincts into a positive force. Fire fighters and police officers are on the job today and enjoying benefits and job security because Wes on the job looking out for them. The lessons I learned from my friend affected me long after I got out of the lobbying game. I also never put on my seat belt and not think about him refusing to put the car in drive until I buckled up. I love you Wes. God speed brother.

Bev, as you know we will miss Wes and our hearts are heavy with grief.  Wes will live in our memories of course, but we feel the pain of loss.  He left us much too soon.  We were blessed to have known him and blessed for all the great times we have shared with you and Wes.

My Wes, my friend....two 20yr. olds trying to eat smoke and learn how to golf. So, so sorry for your loss Beverly and family.......my Wes story....I was playing Hou. Exec GC, now Gus Wortham, I'm on #17 walking down the fairway and here comes Wes out of the left side jungle searching for balls and covered in mosquito bites on every inch of his face and both arms, proud as peaches of all the balls he had scarfed.LOL Will never, ever forget one of the nicest HFDers, and my friend, now and back in the day.    :'(

Many thoughts and prayers this week for you Bev, your family and dear friends. We are so sorry for your incredible loss. I worked with Wes in HFD EMS for many years. I will always remember his calm and positive demeanor, and the way he listened to others. Wes cared for the members of HFD and gave much through his leadership, mentoring and encouragement. Bev, our friendship began with the love of our dogs, but has grown into so much more. I have since admired and been inspired by the people you and Wes are, and the loving partnership you shared. I feel so privileged to have known you both and call you trusted friends. Bev, we will take many more walks on many more mornings. I am here for you!

We shall always remember Wes as a truly genuine and good person. Our hearts go out to Beverly, Wayne and their family.

You will be sadly missed Wes. You were a great man, a great father and the best brother in law a person could've asked for. You always gave good advice and took the time to do it for anyone who needed it without hesitation. You will live forever in our memories and the great things about you will continue to make the rest of us better people. Every time I fire up my grill I will think of you with a smile on my face and I fire up my grill a lot !

Grapefruit cut perfectly,  hilarious game playing on New Year's Eve, fires in Maydelle, sharp knives, trips to Belize, Vegas, Italy, Germany, Prague, fishing, being stopped at the Czech Republic border for a vvveeerrryyy lllloooonnnngggg time, much laughter.                          You may be gone, but never forgotten.

We will miss our fun times with Wes and Bev but we still have our memories. The trip to Italy will always make us smile. We will especially remember the calm and positive outlook on life that Wes always had. He was a good friend.

I remember Wes from South Houston High School.  Always a smile on his face.  I know he will be missed.

We are saddened today, and pray for you.  We recall the good times when Wes was on the FF Union Exec Board and we spent a short time together in Toronto, long ago.  Good memories.

I had the pleasure to work with Wes many years ago while getting my EMT certification for a Volunteer Fire Dept. and was able to learn a lot from him.  Over the years kept up with his accomplishments. Great person and so sorry for your loss.  Prayers are with family.

My hero.  Didn't you know, you hung the moon?  From my favorite conversations to my worst cries.  From my first bicycle ride to my best road trip.  You were always there...baiting every hook, cleaning every fish.  You always have been, and always will be in my heart.  I love you, and I'll miss you forever and ever.

Wes, You may be gone, but will never be forgotten. You left the world a better place. You made a difference. You answered your calling, and did your best every day. May God Bless and Keep You. I worked with Wes during some challenging times at EMS HQ. He was dedicated to the men and women of HFD and the community we all served. Although he is no longer with us, his legacy lives on.

Captain Warnke was the EMS Supervisor at HFD Station 57 B Shift who responded when my daughter died. I will never forget his kindness. Beverly, I  hope your wonderful memories of him help ease your grief during this difficult time.  It was an honor to have known him and to have stayed in touch before his retirement.  I'll never forget the last time we met at Station 79. That's when I met you Beverly.  God bless and be with you and your family.

It was a great pleasure to know Wes during my career with the Houston Fire Department and his service with Local #341.  My dearest sympathy to his family.

You will be missed dear friend. The lives you touched, and those of us you mentored will continue the example you left behind. You truly were a gift.

As we all know, people pass thru your life for a reason. Wes was one of those people that passed thru mine leaving me with a positive attitude in life. He was a true leader in the Houston Fire Department as I am sure he was in his personal life. I am saddened to hear of his passing but will always be proud to say Wes was my friend. I and my family will say a prayer for Wes and will keep his family in our prayers.

I worked with Wes for many years. He was a very devoted man to his family. He was among the few who worked diligently to make the Houston Fire Department a better, safer place to work. He was a good friend. It was fun to argue with him and more fun to laugh with him.  My condolences to Beverly and the rest of his family.  Rest in Peace Wes.
