Dub was born on August 29th, 1949, in Kermit, Texas into the William and Saretta Cameron family growing up in the West Texas community. He was a very industrious young man and at the age of 14, with a minor’s work release, he worked part time throwing a spinning chain and yo-yoing pipe on an oil rig.
He marched into the Marine recruiting station, volunteered and subsequently deployed to Vietnam proudly serving the USMC and the American people.
Once he returned from Vietnam, he attended the University of Texas at El Paso, completed his degree and started his family.
For many years, Dub was a drilling consultant. He started three businesses: a consulting company and drilling rig company in the oil and gas field. After semi-retiring, he opened a bar and grill called Hubba Dubs.
Dub was a very loving and giving man who enjoyed cooking and feeding people and will be sincerely missed.
Dub is survived by the love of his life, Denise. His Children: Bonner Cameron and wife Crystal, Kellee Matlock and husband Bill, and Joseph Cameron and wife Katelyn. His grandchildren: Harley Cameron, Scarlet, Hudson and Henry Matlock and Brynn and Reese Donovan Cameron. The mother of his children: Sharon Boyd Hardin. He also leaves behind his beloved dog Taffy and so many friends.
Funeral services will be on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at 10:00am at Cashner Funeral Home with Visitation to begin one hour prior.
