William "Bill" Albert Hoose

On January 7, 1923 in Cleveland, Ohio, Esther and Lloyd Hoose welcomed, William Albert Hoose, their 4th child into the world. On November 8, 2012, “Bill” left this world to rejoin them in their heavenly home. Between these dates, he lived an honorable life, worked hard to provide for his family, enjoyed his friends and always wanted to learn and explore his world in an accepting, gracious and dignified way.

As a young man, Bill joined the Army Air Corps in World War 11 as a pilot and then served again in the Korean War and as a flight instructor in the Good Neighbor Program, instructing flying to foreign pilots. He retired from the Federal Aviation Agency where he worked as an air traffic controller and made many life long friends.

When he was stationed in Eagle Pass, TX in the early 1940’s, he fell in love with the wide opened spaces and a particular young woman named “Ruby.” At that time, he decided that Ruby and the Texas spirit would win him over and they married in 1945. For several years, they lived in Southwest Texas and then had 2 daughters, Cindy and Debbie whom they raised in San Antonio and then moved to Conroe, where they made their home for the last 46 years.

Bill loved to be adventurous and to explore new ideas. He always had fun with his daughters and their families, with his special grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He took great pride in their accomplishments and encouraged each of them to achieve their goals and live respectable lives. He was smart and humble, strong and kind, loving and happy, devoted and honest. In so many ways, he was special to all who knew him. He rejoiced in the success of others and quietly knew that all greatness came from God.

He represented many of the qualities found in that special World War 11 generation and lived them throughout his life. He was a great father, husband, grandfather, uncle, brother, son and friend to all whose lives he touched. He led through examples both great and small.

We are made better through the lessons he taught, through the laughter he created and through the love he shared. He will be missed, but never forgotten!

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; brothers; Jim and Dick Hoose and sister Florence Moses. He is survived by his wife, Ruby and her mother (Ila May) daughters, Cindy and Debbie, sister Mary Cosgriff, sons-in-law, Mark and Andy, grandchildren, Kim, (Rick) Holly (Erich), Ashley (Phillip), Jeremy and Cody, great grandchildren; Jake, Aden and Will.

He is also survived by the families of Carmen and Lanny Pinchuk; Jonimay and Frank Ayres; Jack and Kay Smith, Jim and Virginia Hoose; Dick and Betty Hoose; Mary and Jim Cosgriff and Florence and Jacob Moses.
