William Stiegeler Reichert

He was born June 5, 1937, in Glens Falls, New York, to the late Walter and Doris Reichert. He is survived by his wife, Gail, to whom he was married for 49 years, their four children Todd Reichert, Jill Taylor, Tim Reichert, and Holly Chaney, their respective spouses, and 12 grandchildren: Madison and Brandon Reichert; Christina, Graham, and Kenner Taylor; Tyler, Lindsey, and Kyle Reichert; Matt, Laura, Jon William, and Grace Chaney. Other survivors are his sister, Elliess Riemer of Schenectady, New York, and his brother, Walter Reichert of Andover, Massachusetts.

Stieg graduated from Glens Falls High School in 1955, and also has a post graduate degree from Williston Academy, 1956. In 1960, he graduated from Colgate University, where he was vice president of his senior class and a member of Delta Upsilon fraternity. In addition, he and four classmates formed the Colgate Hi - Five, a Dixieland jazz band. They cut a record, and Stieg was the center of the rhythm section, alternating on the piano and bass. Professionally, he had a lengthy career in sales, working for Univac, Xerox, and the Norton Company. He also worked for the A. C. Warner Millwork Company. Eventually, he formed several businesses, remaining self-employed until he retired in 2002.

Stieg was known as 'Mr. Breadman', baking buttermilk bread for the neighbors. His other nickname was 'Mr. Pianoman' because he livened up friends' parties with his playing. Soccer was another passion he developed. He became a Texas state soccer referee for high school, club, and college games. He was a former member of the Rotary Club in Glens Falls, New York, and a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Glens Falls.

A private family service will be held for Stieg at a later date at the First Presbyterian Church of Glens Falls, New York, followed by his internment at Pine View Cemetery.
