He was born on August 13th, 1940 in Guanica, Puerto Rico. Son of the late Carlos Cancel and Maria Rodriguez. He leaves his wife of 57 years, Camille (Ferro) Cancel, his two sons John and Robert Cancel; two daughters, Debra Golden and Camille Mucci; and six grandchildren, Michelle, Melissa, Mia, Kaitlyn, Nicholas and Isabella.
Bob met the love of his life, Camille, in Brooklyn NY in 1957 at age 17 and never left her side from that day on. He was a hard worker whose priority was providing for his family. His proudest moments were not only the birth of his children and grandchildren but all that they have accomplished in their lives.
Bob had many passions throughout his life; playing the drums, painting, fishing, dancing and listening to his favorite music from the 50’s to name a few. He was a master carpenter whose work left people in awe. Bob worked for the E.B. Stimpson Company in Pompano Beach Florida for over 30 years retiring in 2007 and was beloved by all his fellow coworkers.
Bob’s sense of humor was silly and lighthearted; always the ham in front of the camera. He was never afraid to make fun of himself for a good laugh.
During the last few years of his life, Bob enjoyed going to Dayscapes Senior Center in Coconut Creek to dance, play games and have fun with the rest of his friends.
He will be forever remembered.
