Adam O’Neil McCalla, 29, of Coral Springs, FL, passed away on June 18, 2021.

He was born in Hollywood, FL at Memorial Hospital. Adam was a fun loving little boy who loved candy and cookies, especially Oreo’s. He started his education at La Petite Academy in Coral Springs.

Adam spent some of his formative years in England, where he went to Primary and Secondary school. This is where Adam developed his keen sense of fashion and love for sneakers. He had quite a collection of sports clothes and tracksuits. Adam loved British chocolate, especially Milk Bar and Milky Way. After graduating from Coconut Creek High School in 2010, he went to Broward College to study Criminal Justice and received his Associate’s Degree, all while working at Nordstrom. He later became a loss prevention officer for Nordstrom. Adam was perusing his degree at FAU School of Criminology and interning with Coral Springs Police Department.

You’d never find Adam shopping in Walmart, because Target was his store of choice. This preference was a source of many light hearted jokes between him and his family. He loved going to the gym, listening to music, and going to the beach. He had a wide range of interests; you could find him watching Impractical Jokers, Cops, or even Spongebob Squarepants. He had a great sense of humor and an infectious smile.

Adam is survived by his parents, Philip and Veta McCalla; siblings, Melissa, Tracey, and Ryan McCalla; daughter, Ava McCalla; nieces, Maya and Jasmine Deonarain; nephew, Nathan Deonarain; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins, including Rupert Dwyer, Beverley Thomas, Helen English, Thelma Dwyer, Lynford Dwyer, Paulette Jeffrey, Michael Dwyer, Loverna Smith, Audley Dwyer, Lynora Abraham; Ionie Chung; Darrell McCalla, Derrick McCalla, Clive McCalla, Elaine McCalla Nichols, Avril McCalla, and Colin McCalla.

Viewing will be Friday, July 23, 2021 at 3pm at First Presbyterian Church of Coral Springs, 2251 Riverside Dr, Coral Springs, FL 33065, with service starting at 4pm. The service will be livestreamed at www.fpccoralsprings.org. Oh Adam,
I wish I was not here writing this. I wish this was all a bad dream, but life had other plans. I have known you for 10 years, and Josh has known you even longer. We had SO many great memories together. So many fun days, fun nights, and we just enjoyed all hanging out and each other's company. Every special occasion for the past ten years, 9/10 times you were there. You were always there, and we were always so happy to have you around. We are grateful that "Uncle Adam" got a chance to meet our son Kayden.

Every time we had plans, you were always one of the first people we would call to see if you wanted to hang out with us. Now, there will always be that void of our dear friend, our brother. You were more than a friend to us, you were truly family. Everyone knew how close we all were. We were the "three musketeers".

I will never forget how I used to call you "Mr. Adam" and you always called me "Ms. Nicole". That was our inside joke. You and Josh always had other silly nicknames for each other. Seeing your bond with Josh was truly something special. You both just understood each other, sometimes with no words spoken.

We will miss you forever, and all the great memories we have shared. Josh and I are honored to have known someone as awesome as you. You were truly special. We are heartbroken, but we know you are in God's glory now. Rest up, our brother.

We love you, always.

Dear Adam: We are all heartbroken that you could only spend 29 years in this world. You left too soon, but not before you achieved your dream of beginning a career in law enforcement to serve and protect your community. You made your whole family proud of the ambitious, respectful and caring young man you became. You set goals for your life and accomplished many of them.
I will hold dear in my memory the last time I saw you on a visit to Florida two years ago. "Hi Auntie" you greeted me with hugs and smiles and surprised me with your new beard. I liked it.

"Some bright morning when this life is over I'll fly away. To that home on God's celestial shore I'll fly away" .
"The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness [Lamentations 3:22]

I’ve been contemplating on how to express my feeling about Adam passing away. I’m sad but all I can remember is his beautiful smile. Adam was such a positive person whenever I was around at Nordstrom working with him. Little by little we started communicating more and became good friends after that. He was so proud about being a father. He love his daughter Ava. That’s all he can talk about. Also it seemed like the gym was his second home. I will forever be grateful that I crossed path with him and learn so much from him. Adam will be in everyone heart forever.

Lost for words... You & Ralph we're so close! All I heard was MY G, MY MAN, MY ACE, MY MY MY LOL! But I knew you were his best friend! It's crazy how I called Nordstrom planning a last-minute surprise for Ralph! Just the person I was looking for answered the phone!! You!! & without hesitation, you showed up!! Right on time!! That made his NIGHT! But who would have thought that would be the last time! You even texted me and said, “more connections in the future.” “What happened”? Only God knows! Well, I’m happy that I have known you for all these years!! & so glad we got to spent that day with you. A contagious smile! May you rest in forever paradise! ~never forgotten~

Adam was one of the kindest, loyal, loving person I have ever had the privilege of knowing. He had one of those personalities that naturally gravitates people to him. For 5 years on weekdays we spent more time together than we did with our own families due to the job we were at. 4:30 every morning he’d be the first face I’d see. We had this mentality that “we all we got”. Those were the good days.
He was a good friend of mine. I’ll always cherish the time we spent together. Long shifts, sleepovers, even him trusting me enough to give him a tattoo. My condolences to his family. R.i.p Bandz
