80.
Anita is survived by her daughter, Sarah Fusco, of Deerfield Beach, Florida; her grandsons,
Justin and Sam Friedlander, of Deerfield Beach, Florida; and her brother, Robert Lee Daniel, of
Alma, Kansas. Anita is preceded in death by her husband, Larry Gresham (USAF, Retired), of
Dumfries, Virginia; and her brother, Jack Daniel, of Texas.
Anita Gresham was born on September 10, 1941, in Killeen, Texas, to Mary Ruth and CB
Daniel. Anita served honorably in the US Army until she married her husband, Larry Gresham,
at RAF Chicksands in Bedfordshire, England, in 1966. Several years later, Anita and Larry
welcomed one child, daughter, Sarah, into their home. Anita’s daughter remembers her as a kind,
loving, and determined woman who was a faithful Christian and a devoted wife and mother.
Later in her life, Anita worked as an Administrative Assistant for the United States Department
of Agriculture in Washington, D.C. She retired from government service in 2008.
Anita was a thoughtful, generous individual who loved classical music, reading, and gardening.
She was passionate about nature and service to others – particularly caring for the needy and for
children. Anita was an active and dedicated member of the Methodist church and taught
children’s Sunday School for many years. Anita also actively contributed to the Meals on
Wheels and Special Olympics programs in Woodbridge, Virginia.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Greenville, Alabama at Bethel Methodist Church for close
family and friends. The family would like to thank the staff of The Atrium in Boca Raton,
Florida and Trustbridge Hospice for their care and dedication.
