

Barbara Ann (Ruggiero) Walsh passed away peacefully December 1st after a valiant battle with cancer. Born prematurely on March 14, 1935 @ 3 lbs.4 oz., she was a medical marvel of the time. She graduated from St. Joseph's High School in Brooklyn, NY. In 1972, the family moved to Coral Springs from Ipswich, MA. An original member of St. Andrew Catholic Church and a Eucharistic Minister. She was never judgmental and was always of service to others. An amazing cook and friend, she regularly held down the kitchen for dozens of people often strangers in need. Barbara retired from the Coral Springs Police Department. Her greatest joy was spending time with family and friends. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Catherine Ruggiero and eldest son Jimmy. She is survived by her beloved husband of 53 years, James Patrick Walsh of Coral Springs; daughter Donna and son- in law Richard Rockfeld of Davie, Fl; son Rocky and daughter-in- law Jeannie of Lakewood, CO; son Joseph of Asheville, NC; daughter-in- law, Suk-Hui Walsh of Margate, FL; sister Patricia Potenza of Coconut Creek, FL and six grandchildren, Ryan, Tyler, Emily, Audrey, Aidan and Seamus.
Visitation will be held Sunday, December 5th from 2-4p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at KRAEER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTER, 1655 University Drive, Coral Springs. A Mass and Christian burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 6th at St. Andrew Catholic Church. 9950 NW 29th Street, Coral Springs, Florida. Interment will follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in North Lauderdale. The family kindly asks in lieu of flowers, donations of non-perishable foods be made to St. Andrew Catholic Church Outreach Program and contributions may be made to the Caitlin Raymond Bone Marrow registry via their website www. crir.org or 55 Lake Avenue, Worchester, MA 06155.
