Betty L. Koontz

Koontz, Betty L., went to be with her Lord on November 7, 2013. Betty was born in Canton, Ohio to the late Kenneth and Leona (nee Wallace) Riese. Betty enjoyed cooking, boating, reading, bridge, art and traveling, especially girl's weekends. She devoted her life to volunteer work and non-profit organizations. She was the Past President or Board Member for many organizations including Symphony of Americas where she was named Woman of Style & Substance, Opera Society, Cystic Fibrosis Gold Coast Guild, Henderson Mental Health, American Cancer Society 100+ Club where she was named Woman of the Year, Royal Dames and the Museum of Art-Beaux Arts and Friends. Betty was predeceased by her son, Timmy Koontz in 2003. Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 58 years, Larry, daughters, Michele (Peter) Kesian, Renee Koontz, son, Larry (Nancy) Koontz II, grandchildren, Jacquelyn (Tyler) Krzeszewski, Samantha Koontz and great grandchild, Kohen Krzeszewski. The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 10, 2013, 3:00 - 7:00pm at Kraeer Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 1655 University Drive, Coral Springs. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, November 11, 2013, 1:00pm at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 1401 Coral Ridge Drive, Coral Springs with Rev. E. Michael Kelly officiating. Entombment to immediately follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, North Lauderdale.
