January 9th, 1961 – June 13th, 2025
It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Cheryl Tishman, of Coral Springs Florida, who passed away on June 13th, 2025, at the age of 64.
Cheryl was born on January 9th, 1961, in Mankato Minnesota, to Robert and Lora McMillen. She grew up in Le Center Minnesota and graduated Summa Cum Laude from Southern New Hampshire University with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Business with a major in Accounting. Cheryl also served her country as a Photojournalist in the Unites Stated Navy from June 1981 until her honorable discharge in June of 1985.
Cheryl will be lovingly remembered by her husband Michael, children Mike and Nicholas, mother and father-in-law Judi and Joe Welsch, siblings Barbie, Mark, Jim, Julie, Terri, and many many others. She was preceded in death by her mother and father Robert and Lora McMillen.
Cheryl (aka Cheri) brought an infectious energy to everything she did. A quintessential people person, Cheri was upbeat, positive and always saw the best in others. Cheri loved dressing up for Halloween and for her traditional annual renaissance festivals. Cheri was a woman of many passions; a competitive tennis player, dedicated sports mom and team photographer, proud Navy Veteran, a great dancer, accomplished seamstress and skilled gardener tending to her pineapple, banana, papaya and mango trees. Popcorn was her favorite food and firmly believed anything could be put on lettuce and called a salad. Cheri’s family and faith were at the heart of her life. Each year she made a cherished trip to Minnesota to celebrate St. Patrick’s day with her five siblings and large extended family. Her husband Michael and her sons Mike and Nicholas were the light of her life and she was immensely proud of their accomplishments. Cheri worked for The Fusion Group for the last 26 years as client relationship manager and was a trusted partner to clients and a bright presence to everyone in the office. Her enthusiasm, dedication and sense of humor made her not only a respected college but a cherished friend. In Cheri’s side business as a professional photographer her greatest joy was connecting with people. The camera gave her permission to get close, see what others didn’t, and preserve the emotion of every moment in time.
A celebration of life ceremony will be held on July 5th, 2025 starting at 11:00am, at 5281 NE 28th Ave, Ft. Lauderdale Florida 33308. NO black attire please. Only bright vibrant colors are being requested for attire as this will be a celebration. There will also not be any formal burial services as Cheryl wished to be cremated and to simply return home to be with loved ones.
In lieu of flowers, Publix grocery store or local restaurant gift card donations will happily be accepted to help continue feeding the family.
Though our hearts are heavy, we are grateful for the time we shared and the memories that will forever live on in the lives Cheryl touched.
Finally a message of love. Love and appreciate those around you every day. Tell them. Hug them. Tomorrow is guaranteed to no one.
