David Kyle Dempsey

May 31, 1956February 2, 2020

Dempsey, David Kyle, 63, of Tamarac, went to be with the Lord February 2, 2020. David was born May 31, 1956 in Hollywood, Florida to the late Albert and Theresa (Mendoza) Dempsey. David loved to travel and adored the game of golf. Wherever he and his wife traveled there was always a golf day. David loved and was loved dearly by his family and friends. He is survived by his wife and two daughters who thought he was the best dad in the world. He cared deeply about the game of golf. For him a bad day on the golf course was still a good day. Your family will miss you forever. We Love You. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 40 years, Marie (Traina) Dempsey, daughters, Christina Dempsey (fiancé - Molly DuFour), Anna Dempsey, sister and brother-in-law, Deborah & Kenneth Clements, nephews, Kenneth Clements, Matthew Clements, niece Kathleen Goeschel and grand-dog, Draper. A Mass of Christian Rite will be celebrated on Thursday, February 6, 2020, 10:00am at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 9950 NW 29th Street, Coral Springs, FL 33065. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made in David's memory to a charity of your choice.

Marie, Anna and Christina; Dave and I played many, many rounds of golf together. We had so many conversations about life and family. I know Marie was his number one, and Anna and Christina were were very close behind. He loved his daughters and spoke so very highly of each of them. I was always so impressed when he'd travel with them to help them get settled for a new job or just a summer internship. I always admired Dave for his class, dignity and sportsmanship. We all wish we had the class and dignity that Dave had, he was a gentleman beyond compare. He'll be missed by everyone who were lucky enough to have crossed paths with him. Rest in peace, my friend.

Marie and Family,
I ran the weekly game @ Woodmont and played golf on numerous occasions with David over the past few years. A persons’s character in life is reflected by the way he conducts himself on the golf course. David exemplified the highest level of integrity at all times while he competed. He also displayed the utmost compassion and humility towards others on the golf course. When you played with David it was never about him, he cheered and complemented everyone else throughout the round. He kept his disappointments with his poor shots inside, to himself , so as to never affect the fellow players in his group. He always wanted everyone playing golf that day to feel comfortable and supported. All of those actions exhibited by David showed me he was an incredible Christian of very strong faith. I know he is content and exhilarated being with Christ right now. I will never forget David, and I will always strive to become more like him- as all of us should. May God be with you and your family always!

I just heard of Daves passing.
I’m shocked and devastated. I’ve played golf with Dave enough times to understand what a marvelous golfer he is and an even greater gentleman. I don’t think I’ll ever play golf without thinking of him.
May God have mercy on his soul and may he hit that ping 3 iron long and straight.
Amen Dave.
