Donald was a proud veteran of the Korean War, having served as a Private in the U.S. Army’s 84th Field Artillery Battalion.
In 1949 Donald joined the Army alongside his brother Sonny. He bravely fought in the Korean War and was later injured in an ambush. Despite his injuries, he was honorably discharged and became a 100% disabled veteran.
Upon his return from the Army, Donald joined the Roofers Union. As a dedicated leader, he took great pride in initiating programs that ensured minorities became members of the union.
Throughout his career, he was a hardworking and entrepreneurial individual who ventured into various restaurants and bars. After retiring to South Florida, he continued to pursue a career in the restaurant and bar industry. However, his greatest joy was dedicating himself to his daughter, Kimberly, and her family. He played a significant role in raising her children, Austin, Amanda, Donald, and Maggie. Their Papa will be deeply missed and cherished forever.
