Eugene J. Marrs

MARRS, EUGENE J., 67, of Coral Springs, went to be with his Lord and Savior September 20, 2010. He was born February 21, 1943 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Forrest George and Angela (Carroll) Marrs. He was a dedicated police officer with the Suffolk County Police Department for 17 years. He and his wife moved to South Florida in 1982 and he opened Dolphin Ice Cream in Coral Springs. Together, they lead REVIVE, a weekend for marriages in trouble, sponsored by the Catholic Church, for 15 years. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 50 years, Ruthann, children, Debra (Daniel) Munz, Eugene Marrs Jr., Tamara Lynn (Rich) Scherwitz, Kim Cecelia Marrs, Pennyann Patricia (Wayde) Christiansen, Michael Patrick (Valentina) Marrs, Tung (Trina) Ngo, grandchildren, James, Tiffany, Brandon, Laura, Shaina, Adam, Austin Joseph, Victoria, Austin Cody, Ashley, Sarah, Samantha, Kyle Donald Eugene, Jordan, Cameron Christian, Timothy, Kyle, Casey and nine great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son, James William Marrs. The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 22 and Thursday, September 23, 2010, 2:00 - 4:00 & 6:00 -8:00pm at Kraeer Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 1655 University Drive, Coral Springs. A Mass of Christian Rite will be celebrated Friday, September 24, 2010, 10:30am at Mary, Help of Christians Catholic Church, 5980 University Drive, Parkland, FL. Eugene was a dedicated and devoted husband, great dad and doting grandfather. Everyone knew him as a peaceful, loving and gentle spirit
