Thank you for raising me and for loving me the way you did. I remember how you choked on a calcium pill which I will never take. I only take liquid form. You were a wonderful mother to me and my family. I will miss you forever.

This book will end on November 3, 2011.   On 11/11/11 you would have been 85 yrs.  What a special day!  May you spend all your days with God and family and friends.    We will all miss you.  Thank you for bringing me into this life with you as my mom.   With deepest love...we will meet again.

Dear Miriam, Yvonne and Al,
I am so, so sorry you lost your wonderful mother. When I think of her I remember how cute she was and how much fun she was. I remember her laughter and how once she began laughing she couldn't stop or even catch her breath. I remember her warm, gracious and generous hospitality and I remember her friendship and her caring. I will never forget the last time I visited her with your Aunt Laura; we had such a nice time with her. Most of all I remember your mother's devotion to your father, all three of you, her grandchildren and all the rest of her family. You always came first with her. Gemma was a good woman. I still remember the dress you made for my first communion.  You were a  wonderful seamstress.  You were always hemming my clothes. You were there for me for my back problems, my wedding, my children's births.  I will certainly miss your fabulous cooked meals at holiday times, especially the artichokes, eggplant, and veal and pasta dishes.  You will always be in a special place in my heart. I know you are happy again and at peace with  dad , your parents, and your sister in heaven. You were a loving mother to me and taught me the most important thing in life is family.

One of the many lovely things about Gemma:  the twinkle in her eye when she was amused.  When I think of that twinkle, it brings such happy memories.  She brought an extra measure of love into my life that will shine always.

Nonni,

Words alone cannot express how much I already miss you. There are so many good times that you and Papa shared with me and the rest of the family that will provide unforgettable memories. I remember the egg hunts during Easter, coming to your house in Chrismas eve... where the Santa Claus traveling in his sleigh would come through the neighborhood, playing the organ in the family room, all the great dinners with family surrounding the table, and so much more. I believe I can speak for others in that such  unforgettable memories are cherished by everyone who were so fortunate to be there for them all. I love you so much, Nonni. Protect us as you watch over us.

To my one and only Nonni,

All the wonderful memories that I have with you will forever be in my heart. From eating those delicious "S" cookies that you alway got for me to giving me a secret stash of plastic Easter eggs. Opening piles of presents on Christmas to eating out of that basket full of all different kinds of nuts. But the memory that I will forever cherish and miss is when you would say  "You want to sleep on my pillows?"
