Geneva Ella Thomas, born on May 21, 1937, passed away on March 6, 2025, at the age of 87. A resident of Delray Beach, Florida, Geneva was a beloved and cherished member of her community. She was known for her compassionate, faithful, kind-hearted, gentle, and devoted nature.
Geneva enjoyed a successful career with Giant Food in Maryland, Virginia, and Washington DC, where she worked from 1969 to 1978. During her tenure, she was recognized for her exceptional service, being awarded checker of the week, checker of the month, and achieving the highest accolade of "Checker of the Year 1974."
On January 1, 1952, Geneva married James Robert Thomas Jr. She is predeceased by her husband, James. Geneva's legacy continues through her family, including her daughter, Linda Fandrey (Gary), her son, James Douglas Thomas, her brothers, Curtis Thomas (Emi), and John Thomas (Crissy), and her grandchildren, Michael, Jennifer, Brian, Alan, Laney, Achi, Bobby, Christina, Cody, Hailey, Nicholas, Jake, and Connor.
Geneva will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
