Mulligan, James E. Sr., 91, of Parkland, passed away February 24, 2012. He was born September 4, 1920 in Norwich, New York to the late James Luke and Erce ( Hogencamb) Mulligan. He served his country honorably as a 1st Lieutenant during WW II in the Army Air Corp as a pilot flying a B-24 Bomber with the 831st Bomb Squadron, 485th Bomb Group Mediterranean Theater where he was shot down and was a POW for nine months in Germany. He had a heart of gold, was very sharp at 91, a great sense of humor, and was loved by everyone who knew him.
Those left to cherish his memory are his grandsons, Sean Mulligan and Ryan Mulligan of Old Lyme, Conn; daughter-in law Maria Mulligan of Parkland, Florida, niece Margaret Ann Coronel of Spring Valley, California; and former daughter-in-law Dinah Mulligan of Old Lyme, Conn. A Funeral Service is being planned at South Florida National Cemetery with military honors at a later date.
