John Gilbert Lemon

Lemon, John Gilbert (Sonny), went home to his Lord and Savior on March 9, 2013. He was 77 years old and was born in Confluence, PA to his precious mother and dad, Ann (Vitez) Lemon Johnson, Bill Lemon (deceased) and step-father, Bob Johnson. He passed away peacefully in his sleep of cancer after a 5 week illness. John was the beloved husband of Kay Varnak Mayo Lemon of North Canton, OH. He was also the loving father of Eric (Tammie) Lemon, Terry Corzine and Julie Lemon of North Canton and proud grandfather of Carolyn Corzine, Paige Yant and Josh Lemon. He was predeceased in death by his first wife, Shirley Mae McNutt, son, Rex Lemon, daughter, Gina Yant and his beloved sister, Sandy Cunningham.

John was a loving step-father to Keith (Terri) Mayo of Coral Springs, FL, Stacey Richard Mayo (deceased) of Davie, FL and Jeff (Dottie) Mayo of Peachtree City, GA. He was also known as Grandpa Johnny by "his boys" as he called them, his 4 precious grandsons, KJ, Joey, Michael and Coby Mayo of Coral Springs, FL.

John and Kay loved camping in their trailer and pulled it all over the Eastern USA, attending baseball games and tournaments for "his boys". John and Kay enjoyed a wonderful life together and besides camping, taking many cruises to Canada, Alaska, Hawaii, the Caribbean and to BAJA Mexico to his brother-in-law, Phil (Donna) Varnak's winter home there. John is retired from Dominion East Ohio Gas Co.

According to John's wishes, there will be no visitation or service. He wants his ashes strewn on his father's farm in Mill Run, MD. Donations in John's memory may be made to Vitas Hospice, 5420 NW 33rd Avenue, #100, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33309
