John was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, and later retired to Florida with his beloved wife, Maureen, where they enjoyed a slower pace of life together.
John shared 35 wonderful years of marriage with his devoted wife, Maureen Spiezia. Together, they built a life centered on family, laughter, and unwavering support for one another. He was a proud father to two children, including his son, John, and a loving stepfather to his stepdaughter, Linda, embracing his role with dedication and care.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Jean; his daughter, Gina; his first wife, Eleanor; his sisters, Jeanne and Barbara; his sister-in-law, Camille; and his step son-in-law, Mike—all of whom he held close in his heart.
John found his greatest joy in his growing family. He was a beloved grandfather to eight grandchildren and a great-grandfather to two, each of whom brought him immense pride and happiness. His love extended beyond his immediate family, as he is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, his sister-in-law Mary, and cousins. He was also a devoted uncle who will be remembered for his kindness, humor, and steady presence. He is also survived by his brother, Dominic, and his brothers-in-law, William and Russell.
John had a passion for life and enjoyed many hobbies. He loved a good cigar and an occasional cocktail, and enjoyed playing racquetball and squash, golfing, skiing, and spending time on the dance floor. These simple pleasures brought him great joy and were often shared with family and friends.
John will be remembered for his warm spirit, his deep love for family, and the moments he treasured—whether sitting outside enjoying the day or surrounded by those he loved most.
A celebration of John’s life will be held at a later date, where family and friends will gather to honor and remember him.
Fly high with the angels, Johnny Angel.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
