Bermudez, Julia, 88, of Coral Springs, formerly of Long Island, New York, passed away August 13, 2014. Julia was born November 2, 1925 in Manhattan, New York to the late Joseph and Mary (Valero) Morales. She enjoyed pencil drawing, word search puzzles, reading and in her younger days cooking for her growing family. Before going out for the day or evening, she made sure her entire ensemble was matching in color including jewelry, shoes and sometimes even a baseball cap which always had to say something about Glen Cove, Long Island, New York. Her grandsons remember her as always wearing red lipstick and penciled eyebrows, they always enjoyed wiping off the eyebrows, only to have their grandmother replace them. Julia had a bucket list and some of the items on that list were to go to the Southernmost Point (Key West), experience riding roller coasters and other thrill rides at Disney World and touring the Marine Corp Base at Parris Island. Those left to cherish her memory are her loving daughters, Natalie (John) McCauley, Arlene Bermudez, grandchildren, John McCauley, Todd (Magaly) McCauley, Desiree (Brian) Makovsky, great grandchildren, John Jr., Joseph, Matthew, Jacob, Brendan and Kailen McCauley and Devin, Caleb & Alicia Makovsky whom she adored and were the loves of her life. She made sure to attend as many sporting events and dance recitals as possible. The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 23, 2014, 2:00 - 3:00pm at Kraeer Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 1655 University Drive, Coral Springs where a Celebration of Life Service will begin at 3:00pm.
