Kathleen "Kathy" Pacheco

Kathy was born to George Sexton and Marion Hladik on October 29, 1945 in Bronx, NY. Her parents immigrated to the U.S. from Europe (Ireland and Czechoslovakia). She was the youngest of five children and grew up in Long Island City, NY.

Kathy met her husband William “Bill” Anthony Pacheco in Long Island City, NY when they were young teenagers. Bill and Kathy married on February 16, 1963. They had three children Doreen, William, Frank and raised their family in Astoria, NY. Her son William was called home to Heaven at the young age of 9 months. In addition to being a loving and devoted wife and mom she was a proud nana to five grandsons, William, Nicholas, Apostolis, Ashton and Drew.

Kathy had a youthful spirit, loved animals, and above all she loved caring and providing for her family. She never missed a school event, Boy Scout meeting, hockey practice, or baseball game. As her children grew older, Kathy became a proud union member for nearly 30 years. She had a strong work ethic and enjoyed her time as a union worker at the Mayfair Regent Hotel in Manhattan, NY and at Pergament Stores in Long Island City, NY. After retiring, she helped raise her twin grand babies, William and Nicholas. Kathy cherished time spent with her husband, children, and grandchildren.

Kathy joins her beloved husband Bill, their son William, and her parents and siblings in Heaven. She is survived by her son Frank and his wife Christina, her daughter Doreen and her husband Derek, and her five grandchildren.

A funeral service for Kathleen will be held Tuesday, January 18, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1401 Coral Ridge Dr., Coral Springs, FL 33071.
