It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kim LaMontagne, age 91, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many. Born on May 11, 1934, in Seoul, Korea, Kim was the cherished daughter of Park, Sun-Ja and Kim, Hung-Ba.
Kim’s life was a testament to love, dedication, and quiet strength. She married the love of her life, Raymond LaMontagne, on July 10, 1965, in Seoul. Kim immigrated to the United States so she and Ray could begin their lives together in Owego, New York. There, Kim worked for IBM. In 1983, Kim and Ray moved their family to Coral Springs, Florida.
Kim is survived by her devoted husband, Ray, and her loving daughters: Theresa (Donald) Ponticello of Boca Raton; Michele (Tanya) LaMontagne of Albuquerque, NM; and Rachel LaMontagne of Davie. She was a proud and doting grandmother to Gabriella Tamame of Davie and Jonathan Tamame of Albuquerque.
A devout member of St. Andrew Catholic Church in Coral Springs, Kim found joy and solace in her faith and her community. She took great pleasure in cooking delicious meals for her family, baking, sewing, and venturing to try new things like learning to swim and playing tennis.
Kim’s legacy lives on in the hearts of those she touched with her generosity, wisdom, and steadfast love. May she rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the love that filled her exceptional life.
