Bird, Leah Holmes, 78, of Coral Springs, passed away May 29, 2017. Leah was born September 24, 1938 in Eustis, Florida the daughter of the late Charles and Neva Nesbitt. Leah is a retired Broward County School Teacher. Her passion was her grandchildren. She was predeceased by the love of her life, Carl Merritt Bird, March 1, 2014. Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Carl Merritt Bird Jr. and wife Kymberly, Charles Clifford Bird and wife Jo-Ann, grandchildren, Carl Merritt Bird III and Caden Ethan Bird, and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 10, 2017, 11:00am – 12:30pm at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 6301 SW 18th Street, Boca Raton, FL 33433 where a Celebration of Life Service will begin at 12:45pm with Pastor Robert Endruschat officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations be made in Leah's memory to the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. 561-393-7007. Donations may also be made to the American Cancer Society.
