It is with a heavy heart that we share that Lorraine Vazquez passed on to join Our Lord in Heaven on June 6, 2024. They say that an amazing teacher is hard to find, difficult to part with, and impossible to forget. This perfectly describes Lorrie as an educator whose legacy will continue to live on through the roughly 25,000 students she has inspired in her lifetime. The French Artist, Henri Matisse, famously said that “Creativity takes Courage” which Lorrie not only showed with her own artistry but in her teachings day in and day out. Lorrie had recently built a passion for Health and Well Being having become a Certified Nutrition Coach sharing her enthusiasm for it with her friends, family and the broader community.
Besides being an Artist, Educator and Coach, Lorrie was a Daughter to her loving parents Santiago and Carmen Diaz who raised her with infinite love and support. She was also Sister to Jackie Diaz Oropeza who shares Lorrie’s belief in all things positive. She had also become a Sister to Eddie Oropeza, Eileen, Raymond, and Derejre Vazquez, who all shared having to deal with Lenny’s shenanigans.
Lorraine was a genuinely loving Wife to Lenny Vazquez. The two of them were physically inseparable for 31 years and their spirits continue to be so. They married on July 27, 2001 and they have shared an extraordinary love for each other and a selfless and unwavering support for each other’s passions and pursuits.
Lorrie’s most important role was being the Proud Mother to Gigi and Leo who she has molded with her love and positive approach to life. Lorrie once posted that “If you need something to believe in, start with yourself”, which is what she has instilled in her children who will miss her dearly but know she lives on in their hearts.
She is also survived by a broader group of relatives, friends and colleagues who the family appreciates have provided a great outpouring of love and support.
Please join us in celebrating her life on June 12, 2024 at the Kraeer Funeral Home in Coral Springs. Lorrie lived her life with contagious positivity and strived to inspire others to do the same. The family asks that you celebrate and honor her similarly- make some art, share it with your friends and family, and most importantly, honor her by spreading love and joy in this world.
