
Maria Hall one of the dearest most sincere person I have the privilege to know . We met in Penang   many  years ago but even after she left  Penang we continued our friendship via the phone . I loved to hear her laugh and  giggle , yes two very mature ladies  doing that on the phone  for years . Maria  , my dear friend I shall miss you and you will always have a place in our hearts Love Jenny and Jimmy

You never realize how much another persons soul is meshed with your own until they are gone. I am reminded of my 25 year friendship with Maria everyday—driving by restaurants we frequented, eating food we liked, recalling stories around the holiday dinner table, bits of gossip—people we disliked!  As I pass by my window, on my way to bed, I still catch myself checking to see if her front door light is on meaning "all is well, stop worrying and go to bed."  Although your light is gone Maria, I will continue to leave mine burning as a reminder of our unique friendship. I am honored to have shared time on this earth as your friend and family.

Today we are sad with the passing of Maria, but also happy she is reunited with Bob. Like they say behind a good Man there is a Unique and Strong Woman!  That's what we can say about Maria Unique and Strong, she said it the way it is! Not going around with her!  We go long way back,  great memories of Penang, Singapore, and Florida. 
She always had a great stories to tell, I'll miss all the phone calls and getting together for lunches, sharing pictures and talking about the grandkids her pride and joy! She always had remedies for everything, I'll remember her Everytime I make my mint tea,  she prescribed for my allergies, She was a special Friend 💖  Juli, Easen and girls Our deepest condolences 💕

I met Maria when I had the honor of working for Bob as his secretary in the early 80s.  He was by far the best boss I have ever worked for.   An extremely intelligent man, Maria matched him in all ways and they had a wonderful sense of life and love.  One of my fondest memories was when Maria invited me to their home for dinner and after our meal, Bob and Juli shared a bowl of ice cream while giggling together. She let me in on a special family moment and was so proud of the bond they shared.  She was a funny, intelligent and proud person.
 
Juli, I hope the memories you made with your mother give you comfort and strength.

I have just lost one of my dearest friends who was like a sister to me.  We had planned to meet in 2017 to celebrate Maria's 80th birthday and I, my 70th birthday. Unfortunately that never came to fruition as Juli had planned a surprise party for Maria.
 
I am going to miss Maria's early morning 5am calls! Rest in peace my dear, dear friend, Maria.

We first met Bob, Maria and Juli in Penang , Malaysia in the early 80's when we all lived and worked there . Our two kids bonded with Juli , all being similar age .  The Halls were such fun and many a day was spent at the Penang Swimming Club enjoying life . Life was good . Thoroughly enjoyed listening to their stories of sailing and learning that Juli was born in Bali , and how the locals would love to touch Juli's blond hair .
Bob was such an astute manager and he would be at work extra early to see the shift change and if any problems had arisen . Maria always had vases of flowers in their house as that is what Bob liked . Maria was a person who if any "newbies " came to Penang  , she was there to take care of them until they had settled in .We met some nice people through the Halls .
Then the dreaded day came when we had to say our good byes when it was time for them to return to USA . It was hard on us as the kids had grown close to Juli and we had enjoyed life to the fullest with Bob and Maria and it was all coming to the end  . Thanks for the wonderful memories Bob and Maria . May your sail boat have full sails and fair sailing , you are both together 

When I think of Maria, I mostly remember her smile, her warm eyes, her cool raspy voice, and most of all her hugs. She always gave such great big hugs, which is indicative of the big life she lived. 

When I first met Maria in Penang, I was 3 years old and Juli quickly became my “best friend”. We loved playing in the water and frolicking barefoot outside. Juli and I always had so much fun together — as young girls playing in Penang, and as preteens in Singapore. We especially loved to entertain Maria and Bob with our songs and performances, which were always encouraged and well received.  As I draw back on these performances, I again remember Maria’s warm eyes and her smile as she cheered us on. Though the years have past and many miles separated us at times, I have always kept my dear memories of Maria, Bob and Juli close to my heart. I am honored to have been one of Maria’s “daughters”.

Three and half years ago, I spoke to Maria, while Juli and her family were visiting my family in Austin, TX.  We just laughed about how neat it was that Juli and I were together again, but now with our own kids meeting for the first time at age 3.  Maria was so very proud of Juli and Easen and dearly loved her granddaughters. I know she and Bob are smiling together again, as they reflect on the legacy they have made. Maria, you will be missed. ❤️



Very sorry to hear of Maria’s passing.  Please accept my sincere condolences. 
I worked with Maria and Bob for many years at the “Big M.”  We had great times together both professionally and socially.  I enjoyed hearing of their progress as they sailed around the world.  I also recall the excitement when we heard of Juli’s birth.
I’ll always appreciate the time the Halls spent with me and my wife.  We miss them as many others will.

When we met Maria in Motorola Florida, we were both pretty young and just starting our lives together. Then Perry was given the opportunity to work for Bob in Penang in 1978. That's when we really got to know Maria and enjoy her friendship.  Since the American community in Penang was so small, we would often be together, sharing our stories of the trails and tribulations on an American living abroad. I'm not sure who had the funniest story but it was probably Maria because she was able to spin a tale better then the rest of us. 
Juli & our daughter were both 3 years old when we moved to Penang. They were together all the time. Some of our fondest memories is going to the Dragon Boat Races waiting for the Motorola team to compete and having the girls playing in the sand & water not wanting to leave when it was over. Also going to Penang Swim Club on the beach to get the 10 cent satay.
It was a real pleasure getting to know the Hall family as well as we did those years in Penang & Singapore. We will cherish all those memories forever.


Dear Juli and family,
I first met Maria in the early 70's at Motorola.  It was my first job out of college and I  was Executive Assistant to Dick Kinzig, the Comptroller.  Maria had learned that I had a degree in Business Education and she enlisted my help to create a Secretarial Handbook. What a no-nonsense powerhouse Maria was!  I had such respect and admiration for her.  Years later I was pleasantly surprised when your family moved into CypressHead and became our neighbors and friends. I was lucky to have known Maria both professionally and personally.  She will be missed.  But I believe Maria will be joining Bob on a new adventure.  Juli, I hope and pray that you can find peace in knowing the great support and love your mom had for you and your family.

Juli, your mom walked into my classroom and shook my hand firmly.  She was very proud of you, and she felt strongly that you deserved every opportunity to reach your potential.  We both agreed that you were motivated. Your mom understood your intellectual hunger to learn, and she was your strongest advocate. 
Juli, peace be with you. Keep your mom’s love in your heart.

I met Maria, as many others did, as we joined Motorola.    On my first day in 1970, I was introduced to "the boss" (a.k.a. Maria) as she was the Executive Assistant to Marty Cooper.    From that day forward, my life has never been the same.    As typical with that era at Motorola (1970's) we were one family and worked hard together and played hard together.    We had weekly volleyball games and pizza and beer after.    Maria was a happy participant.   Friendships developed that last a lifetime.    The year my wife Sue and I got married, Maria and Bob joined us in that happening.   Years later I became one of Bob's organization and learned alot.    Worked for Bob in Singapore and develped a deeper friendship.    Maria was such a vibrant force in all relationships.    
Our relationship blossomed with our families becoming close together.    We will miss Maria.    She is one of a kind and we know she and Bob are expanding their travels together.

I have been fortunate to have known Maria for almost 50 years.  She was not only a great friend but she never failed to offer her honest, direct and occasionally politically incorrect observations.  Maria never let obstacles get in her way.  Her actions showed that you can accomplish the nearly impossible.  The impossible just took her a little longer.  All those who knew Maria will miss her.

Dear Juli, Easen, Nyah and Kensi, 

I remember the first time I met Maria, and somehow getting onto the topic of baseball. Finding a common love in the Phillies meant we always had something to talk (or bemoan) about. Luckily 2008 (or two thousand and great!) was a year to remember! 

I am so sorry for your loss and hope you can keep your memories of Maria close to your heart so that she is never far from you.

A very funny lady with a distinctive voice rang my doorbell in our apartment in Singapore.  That day was the beginning of a long friendship.  Maria was one of the smartest woman I have ever known.
I will see you someday and we will put the world to rest, as we always did in the past.

I will always have fond memories of Maria.   I first met her in 1970, when I started at the Big M.  Lots of fun in those days as she took a group of young engineers under her wing.  Many Many interactions in the intervening years.  All leading to wonderful memories.  She will be missed here, but is back together with Bob.

Rest In Peace Dearest Maria. I will always cherish the fond memories of the time spent with you in Penang, Malaysia.
