Mary Ida Taylor

Born on February 3, 1934, in Hanover, New Hampshire to Reginald and Edna Bergeron. Mary shared an extraordinary life and nearly 73 years of marriage with her beloved husband, Kenneth O. Taylor, Jr. They were married on September 12, 1953, and together built a life filled with family, friendship, and love. Mary and Ken traveled extensively throughout the United States, visiting family and friends and creating many wonderful memories along the way. During the cold New Hampshire winters, they enjoyed spending periods in the warmth of Casa Grande, Arizona.

Mary was the proud mother of two daughters, Theresa Taylor Cole (Marty Cole) and Dr. Lynne Marie Bemis (Gordon Bemis). Her family grew to include six grandchildren: Kris Hinkle (Adam); Jack Cole (Victoria); Sam Cole (Heather); Jud Bemis (Grace); Elizabeth Bourgault (Jake); and Phil Bemis (Taylor). She was also blessed with 13 great-grandchildren.

She earned her undergraduate degree from Plymouth State University and enjoyed a 25-year career as an elementary school teacher.

Throughout her life, Mary was active in her church in Concord, as well as in many philanthropic and social endeavors. She valued community, friendship, and service to others and generously gave her time and energy to the people and causes that mattered to her. Whether through her teaching, her church and community involvement, or the time she devoted to family and friends, Mary found fulfillment in connecting with and caring for others.

Mary is survived by her husband, Kenneth; her daughters and their husbands; her six grandchildren and their spouses; her 13 great-grandchildren; and her brother, Reginald Bergeron.

After a long and full life marked by an enduring marriage, devotion to family, a love of children, friendship, travel, and service to others, Mary leaves behind a legacy that will live on through the many lives she touched. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

Mary will be laid to rest at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, New Hampshire.
