With love and gratitude, we celebrate the beautiful life of Nancy, affectionately known as Grancy, who passed away peacefully at the age of 97. She was the heart of our family— a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, great-aunt, cousin, and friend. A guiding light to all who knew her, Nancy’s kindness, warmth, and unwavering love left an indelible mark on our lives.
Nancy shared a lifelong love with her devoted husband, Angelo, and together they built a family rooted in love and tradition. She was the beloved mother of Carmela and her husband Carl, Angelo and his wife Barbara, Richard and his wife Madeline, and Ronald and his wife Philomena. She is now reunited in Heaven with her loving Angelo, along with her sons Angelo and Ronald, son-in-law Carl, and sister Jean. Though she is no longer with us, we take comfort in knowing she is smiling down on us from the arms of the Lord.
Her greatest joy was her family. As a proud grandmother of ten and a devoted great-grandmother of seventeen, she poured her heart into caring for each of them. She was always there with a warm hug, a gentle smile, and words of encouragement. And no matter the occasion, Nancy was always prepared with a tissue in her pocket—ready to wipe a runny nose, clean a messy mouth, or dry a teary eye.
Nancy’s faith and love of family traditions were the cornerstones of her life. Sundays were sacred—beginning with Mass, where she and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren filled two pews, followed by breakfast together, filled with lively conversation. And of course, no Sunday was complete without her famous pasta and meatballs, a tradition lovingly passed down through generations. After dinner, a handful of cashews, a good cup of coffee, and two chocolate chip cookies were the perfect ending to a perfect day. Easter was especially cherished, marked by her legendary Easter pie, a recipe that continues to be a treasured family tradition. Nancy made many travels to spend time with family in New York and shared birthday celebrations, communions, weddings, and summer days full of sunshine.
A gifted seamstress, Nancy’s artistry extended far beyond fabric—she stitched love into every creation. From handmade clothes for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren to quilted blankets, Halloween costumes, ring bearer suits, and flower girl dresses, each piece carried a part of her heart. If you needed something hemmed or altered, Nancy was always happy to make sure you looked your best. For those closest to her, the hum of a sewing machine will forever be a sweet reminder of her love and dedication.
She found joy in life’s simple pleasures—family gathered around the dinner table, music filling the room, a fresh manicure, a good mystery novel, and above all, the love that surrounded her. She was always smiling, always kind, and never spoke an unkind word. Her positivity and warmth made her a role model to all who knew her.
Though she is no longer with us, her love, wisdom, and traditions will forever live on in our hearts. As we share stories and gather around our tables, we will remember her laughter, her kindness, and the love she so freely gave.
Nancy, you have left behind a legacy of love, family, and strength. We will miss you dearly, but we find comfort in knowing you are at peace. May you always have a great “book on your nook” as you watch over us from Heaven. And don’t worry—we will always “be careful,” and we won’t forget our shoes.
