Ricardo Victor Diaz

Ricardo Victor Diaz went home on Thursday, October 18, 2012, to be with Jesus, his beloved daughter Elizabeth Diaz Pindel and other loved ones in Heaven. Ricardo was born in Havana, Cuba on March 10, 1948 and predeceased by his father Domingo Diaz, his step-father Raymond Lamas and his mother Rita Lamas. He immigrated to the United States via Operación Pedro Pan in 1961. Eventually, Ricardo made his way to Queens, New York where he met his Queen – Eileen Diaz, who he was faithfully married to for 43 years. Ricardo worked professionally as a Respiratory Therapist, serving the community for the last 22 years at Boca Raton Regional Hospital. Ricardo was a true angel having innocence and purity of heart. He touched the lives of family, friends and anyone else he encountered. Ricardo will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, son and brother and for his uncanny ability to make everyone laugh. Ricardo had a great love for his family, caring for children in the NICU, and the Miami Hurricanes. Ricardo is survived by his Queen, Eileen Diaz; his son, Richard William Diaz and wife Christine Diaz; his son-in-law, Allen A.J. Pindel; his grandchildren, Dillon Michael Pindel, Carolynn Elizabeth Pindel, Kathryn Diaz, and Sadie Diaz; his sister, Rita Marti and her husband Isaac of Pembroke Pines, FL; his nieces and nephews, Emmanuel Marti, Matthew Marti, Sarah Marti, and Isabella (Bella) Marti; his godmother, Dr. Elda Guerra; his honorary son, Alexander Drogan III; and many aunts and cousins. The family will receive family and friends at the Diaz family home on Sunday, October 21, 2012, starting at 1 p.m. for a celebration of Ricardo’s life. A Memorial Mass for Ricardo will be held starting at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 23, 2012, at St. Vincent Catholic Church, 6350 N.W. 18th Street, Margate, Florida. Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to the Boca Raton Regional Hospital Foundation, Inc. in memory of Ricardo Victor Diaz at 745 Meadows Road, Boca Raton, Florida 33486.
