Richard was born on November 22, 1936, in York, Pennsylvania, to Augustus and Elaine Kreeger. He attended York High School and married Janet Schmidt on August 4, 1963, in Dallastown, Pennsylvania.
Richard worked as a Cable Television Engineer at Jerrold Electronics in Philadelphia for eighteen years, and later at Selkirk Communications in Fort Lauderdale for twenty-five years, retiring as Vice President and General Manager. He was a veteran of the Pennsylvania National Guard and a proud member of the Society of Cable Engineers. For more than forty years, he volunteered with both the Gold Coast Ski Club and the Ski Club of the Palm Beaches.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Joan Widener.
He is survived by his wife, Janet Kreeger; his sons, Keith Kreeger and wife Beth, and Kevin Kreeger and wife Shannon; his grandchildren, Ryan, Devyn and husband Wilson Kerr, Grant, Kyle, and Katey; and his great-granddaughter, Greta.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at Kraeer Funeral Home in Coral Springs, Florida. Burial will follow at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the Cancer Association of America.
