Shey, Sonia Diamond, 90, of Coral Springs, formerly of Winter Park, passed away November 15, 2014. Sonia was born September 5, 1924 in Jamaica, Queens, New York to the late Issac and Ernestine (Berg) Diamond. She enjoyed collecting antique and was a proud supporter of the Orlando Symphony, ORT, Hadassah and B'nai Brith. Sonia worked for many years as a youth mediator in Seminole County, Florida. She was predeceased by her brother and sister-in-law, Arnold and Florence Diamond and also by her loving husband, Marvin. Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Andrea (Arnold) Stahl, Ronald (Joan) Shey, Kenny (Debbie) Shey, grandchildren, Sheri (Rommel) Torres, Lisa (Samuel) Schecter, Amy (Andrew) Jacobs, Scott (Andrea) Shey, Lauren Shey, Benjamin Shey, great grandchildren, Sarah Torres, Michaela Schecter, Wyatt Jacobs, Meredith Jacobs and Emma Shey. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, November 19, 2014, 12:45pm at South Florida National Cemetery, Lake Worth, Florida where she will be laid to rest with her husband, Marvin.
