Stan was born in Muskegon, MI, to the late Andrew and Gertrude Wagner. He graduated from Zeeland High School in 1959, where he lettered in both baseball and football.
In 1964 Stan enlisted in the United States Army. The following year in May 1965, he married the love of his life Irene (Staat). In 1966 he was deployed to Vietnam and proudly served his country until being honorably discharged in 1976.
His entire professional career was focused on operations and logistics, beginning with his military training through his retirement. Together with Irene, they raised their four children in South Florida.
Stan’s passion for sports remained; if a Michigan game was on, you could bet Stan was watching it. You could also find him on the sidelines of his grandchildren’s sporting events over the years. He also had a green thumb for gardening, where he spent countless hours nurturing and growing plants.
Stanley is survived by his loving wife Irene, his four children, Robert (Kate) Wagner, Randy (Ellen) Wagner, Kimberly Wagner, and Chad Wagner; his seven grandchildren, Cameron, Ashley, Nicholas, Ryan, Sean, Kendall, and Robbie. In addition to many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his five older siblings.
A celebration of life service will be held on Thursday, April 28, 10 am – 12 pm at Kraeer Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 1655 N. University Dr., Coral Springs, FL 33071.
