Steven is survived by his mother, Aileen Chun, of Honolulu, Hawaii; his younger brother, Jayson, and his younger sister, Michelle, of Honolulu, Hawaii. He is preceded in death by his father, Raymond Chun, of Honolulu, Hawaii.
Steven was born on November 23 in 1962 in Honolulu, Hawaii. He graduated from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa in 1985 with a degree in computer science. He proceeded to travel throughout the nation, working in locales as diverse as Ohio and Chicago, and in 2006, he moved to Coral Springs and accepted a position as a freelance computer programmer. He fastidiously saved his money and enjoyed an early retirement in 2018, where he passed his time biking, swimming, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, and travelling the nation and world to enjoy good food.
Steven was deeply involved in training jiu-jitsu for the majority of his life, and attained the rank of purple belt. He especially enjoyed travelling to Hawaii and Japan, watching Japanese superhero shows like Ultra Seven, managing his investments, and watching pro wrestling. His family and friends will always remember him as a unique individual who treasured his privacy and lived life in his own distinctive way.
A private celebration of his life is scheduled for his close friends and family. If you wish to remember him, please feel free to send donations to a charity of your choice. That’s how he would’ve like to be remembered.
