Victoria Stabile, 98, of Coral Springs, passed away peacefully, at home, surrounded by loving family, on August 2, 2012. Vicky was born October 5, 1913 in New York City to the late Teresa (Plati) and Nicola Tanico. She grew up in Astoria, Queens, New York, with her brothers, Tony and Mike, and sisters, Camilla, Rosie and Mary. At the age of 21, she married the love of her life, her late husband of 60 years, Joseph Stabile. Together, they raised two daughters and eventually retired to sunny Florida where they devoted many years of volunteer efforts to help fund the building of St Martha’s Catholic Church, in North Miami. Vicki also volunteered for Catholic Charities and could be found every afternoon serving lunch for senior citizens and lifting their spirits with her warmth and friendliness.
She celebrated her Italian heritage by delighting family and friends with her delicious cooking, especially “Sunday Gravy” and home-made raviolis. Vicki’s favorite pastimes were spoiling her grandchildren, watching the Marlins play baseball, listening to Italian music and playing Bingo, which she did every Wednesday with her devoted daughter, Joanie, and dear friends at Temple Beth Am. She loved to crochet and used her creative gift, over the last ten years, to donate hundreds of afghans for Hospice patients.
Vicki will always be remembered for her sweet, loving nature, kind generosity, and beautiful smile that would warm your heart. Those left to cherish her memory are her loving daughters, Joan Sanita and Nancy Cerasuolo (John), 5 Grandchildren, Victoria Ascione (Phillipe), Joanne Fry (John), Michele Wilson (Richard), John Cerasuolo (Jennifer), Joseph Cerasuolo (Rosie), 14 Great Grandchildren and a sister, Mary LaRosa, of New York.
