He enjoyed a childhood of baseball and piano with frequent trips to Atlantic City, New Jersey before losing his mother when he was 13-years-old. Walt attended the University of Scranton; always proud to discuss his “purple and gold Jesuit” education. As a young adult, Walt worked in the magazine industry, traveling throughout the US before establishing his own business in the field as a publisher consulting and data processing firm, Publishers Communication Systems (PCS), in Coral Springs, Florida. Walt’s own father would even work along side him until his death in 1986. Walt enjoyed nearly 50 years in business with PCS, employing many in the community and supporting local causes including the Broward County Police Benevolent Association.
Walt was an active Catholic, attending St Andrews Catholic Church before the building of Mary Help of Christians where he served on Mary Help of Christian’s finance committee and sang with his wife in the church choir.
Beyond success in business, Walt was a sports enthusiast, following his beloved New York Yankees and
Washington Redskins. He also spent the better part of 20 years coaching baseball in both Northern Virginia and in the Coral Springs Little League. Walt was accomplished at penmanship and often sent humorous letters to his children and friends over the years that will forever be treasured.
