Bagalue, Wilfred Dane, 50, of Lauderdale Lakes, formerly of Rhode Island, passed away June 23, 2019. Affectionately known as Dane, he was born in Mandeville, Jamaica on December 17, 1968 to Mildred McLean Bagalue and the late Robert Samuel Bagalue. At the age of 10, Dane migrated to the U.S. in 1978.
Dane loved school and was an Honor Student In which he earned the opportunity to visit President Ronald Reagan for all his Academics accomplishments. Dane was very ambitious and loved to work. His fist job he worked was at Met Food Supermarket, packing bags and receiving tips from his politeness and charm.
After living in New York, he moved to Boston where he formed many close and lasting friendships. Because of his handsome features and curly hair, he became known as "Indian" to most.
He worked for many years in construction as a professional interior painter but later in life discovered his talent for finding and selling collectible items. Dane had many interests. He liked to go fishing and especially enjoyed cooking up whatever fish he came back with. He was a great cook and often cooked Jamaican style sea food dishes for his friends. He loved music, especially his native reggae music. He loved basketball and baseball, always rooting for his favorite teams the Boston Celtics,Toronto Raptors and New York Yankees. But what he loved most of all were his children. Dane was a man that was not understood by many but who had an undeniable charm. He had a special little mischievous grin and loved to laugh and share stories of past misdeeds. He wasn't a perfect man but he was reborn in Christ and now rests in the arms of our Heavenly Father.
His name meant greatness and he left us with so much of his potential and talent undiscovered.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving mother, Mildred Bagalue. His sister Amania Thompson, His brother Roger Bagalue and his wife Marcia. His baby sister Arlett Bagalue-Gayle (Ter) and her husband Ken. His children, Alexandrea Bagalue, her husband Akeal Prentice, Ariel Bagalue, Kristopher Gardner, Arianna Bagalue, Brandon Bagalue and Brianna Bagalue, and his grandson Major Prentice. He will also be remembered by his godchildren, his aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and many others who loved him and will cherish his memory. Memorial Services honoring him will be held at the Beavertail State Park, Jamestown, Rhode Island on July 20, 2019.
