William Franklin Whitaker, 81, of Coral Springs, FL, passed away July 8, 2026 at VITAS Inpatient Hospice Care at Broward Health Coral Springs. He was born in Princeton, IN on May 21, 1945 to Armine Frank and Margie (Harper) Whitaker. He graduated from Mt. Carmel High School and received a bachelor’s degree from Illinois State. He was married to Kathy Bever for 55 years. Before retirement he worked in retail as a sales associate. He served in the Air Force and was a Vietnam Vet. His interests were baseball and American history.
He is survived by his wife Kathy, his children Amy Whitaker and Wesley Whitaker, his grandchildren Keeley Whitaker and Kyle Whitaker, his sister Thelma (Whitaker) Lutz, his brothers Larry Whitaker (Linda) and Lester Whitaker (Emily), his brothers-in-law Mike Bever (Rena) and Mark Bever, and his nieces and nephews and their families.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Doyle.
Funeral arrangements will be held at a future time in Mt. Carmel, IL.
