Ray is now reunited with his wife of 62 years Mary Shirley (nee Rupert) who predeceased him in 2018.
Ray was the proud father of Cathie (Gerry) and Alan (Lori). He was an extremely proud poppa to his granddaughters Melanie (Wayne), Sierra and Savannah. He loved sharing hockey stories with his one and only great grandson Reilly.
Ray was born and raised in the village of Lancaster ON. He was predeceased by his parents Margaret (nee Corrier) and Eugene Picard. He was a beloved brother to the late Yvonne (late Ernie), the late Maurice (Frances), Madeleine (late Ron), the late Helen (late William) and Eugene (Cathy). He will be fondly remembered by numerous nieces and nephews.
Ray was a quiet, patient, gentle man who enjoyed sharing stories of growing up in Lancaster, playing hockey, golfing, curling, his years of work at Domtar, all the travel he and Shirley got to share together and the joy his family brought him.
Ray was a shining light to family and all the friends he gathered throughout his 91 years. He will be greatly missed.
Family will be in attendance at LAHAIE AND SULLIVAN EAST BRANCH 614 FIRST STREET EAST, CORNWALL on Friday March 6, 2026, between the hours of 9:00AM to 11:00AM.
Prior to a Service of Remembrance that will be held in the Memorial Chapel of the Funeral Home at 11:00AM
Interment to take place at a later date in his hometown of Lancaster, ON.
