TALLON, Rita Jeannine – peacefully passed away, surrounded by the love of family and friends on Sunday, April 26, 2026 at the Cornwall Community Hospital at the age of 96 years. Rita is now reunited with her beloved husband and best friend, Walter David Tallon and her dear son, Walter Jr., both of whom she missed deeply. She will be lovingly remembered and forever missed by her nephew George Doucette and his wife Debbie, whom she cherished as her own, and their children, Ashley Landry (Andrew) and Douglas Doucette (Haley). Rita was a loving Nana to Owen, Claire, Noah, Faith and Devin. She was predeceased by her parents, William and Floride (née Thauvett) Schmidt.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Lahaie & Sullivan Cornwall Funeral Homes, East Branch, 614 First St. E., (613-933-2841). A private inurnment will take place at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or to the Alzheimer Society of Canada would be appreciated by the family.
