Beloved of David, momma to Jennifer (Gordon), Lisa (Jamie) and Christopher, Grandma (to Bethany and Jordan, Simona and Taylor, Mairin and Nathaniel and Aislinn), great-grandma (to Kaedmon and Jayda, Jay-Lynn and Gwendolyn, Finley and Jaxson and Everleigh) and big sister to Judy, Gary and Vivian. Anne and Dave moved to Courtenay when he accepted a call to serve as a pastor at St George’s United Church. Her daughters and their families joined them in the Valley, and are so grateful that we were able to laugh, celebrate and support each other through the years.
When she smiled, the room lit up, her eyes twinkled and her hugs were filled with love, safety and acceptance. Anne’s life was built on love, grace and compassion, rooted in her deep, beautiful faith. It flowed out through her parenting, her stunning singing voice, and her counselling of those who carried deep wounds. Everything within her longed for deep relationship, with her Lord, her family, her friends. That was most precious to her, above all else. It was her heartbeat.
Momma loved to explore with Dad, starting with their first trip in a beat up Volkswagen in Scotland, to living in Switzerland for six months, to the north of BC when Dad was pastoring there. Car odysseys (that Chris, the tease, was lucky to survive), camping trips, hiking through the Highlands and finding hermit caves in Wales, she was curious and brave and wanted to take a photo of every... single... bird...
On December 13th at 4:30pm at the Little Red Church in Comox, join with those of us who love her best to sing, remember and rejoice in gratitude for who she was and continues to be...
In lieu of flowers please consider donating to the Comox Valley Care-A-Van or the Eureka Support Society Courtenay Clubhouse.
