

Cynthia Joan Bova, 69, of Croton-on-Hudson, NY, passed away peacefully on December 5, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on August 21, 1956, in North Tarrytown, NY, she was the daughter of the late Richard Mills and Mary (Ozzello) Mills.
Cynthia graduated from Croton-Harmon High School in 1974 and married her high school sweetheart, Mike Bova, in 1977.
Cynthia is survived by her devoted husband, Michael J. Bova, with whom she shared a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and family. She leaves behind her cherished daughters: Amy Kelly and her husband Christopher, Deborah Bova, Allison Hall and her husband John, and Katherine Bova and her fiancé Tim Davenport. She was the proud and adoring grandmother of Shaylee, Bradyn, Jacob, Lucas, Zachary, and Archie, each of whom brought her immense joy and purpose.
Cynthia is also survived by her caring brother, William Mills. She was predeceased by her beloved sister, Nancy Clark, and by her brother Richard Mills.
Family was the heart of Cynthia’s life. She lived for her grandchildren, delighted in a full and lively home, and especially treasured the holidays when everyone was together. She never missed an opportunity for a cherished “Coffee Date” and was known for her warm, outgoing personality. Cynthia naturally drew people in with her kindness and genuine interest in others.
A dedicated member of Holy Name of Mary Church, Cynthia lived her faith through service, compassion, and community involvement. She devoted her professional life to caring for others as well. She began her nursing career at Skyview Nursing Home, spent many years in Dr. Goldman’s Allergy office, and later worked in several nursing homes, leaving her beautiful mark along the way.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 8, 2025, at the Edward F. Carter Funeral Home, 41 Grand Street, Croton-on-Hudson, NY, from 4–8pm. Cremation services will be private.
Cynthia’s legacy of love, warmth, and compassion will live on in all who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
