Daniele M. Rosso of Croton-on-Hudson, NY passed away peacefully on May 2, 2025, just shy of his 67th birthday. He was born in Savona, Italy and was the beloved son of the late Carlo and Giuseppina (née Ramazzi) Rosso.
Daniele led a rich and varied life. After Daniele completed his degree in nautical navigation at the Istituto Nautico San Giorgio in Genoa, Italy in 1983, he served as a navigation officer with Carnival Cruise Lines. It is on a cruise to the Bahamas in March of 1991 that he met his future wife. Daniele and Tracy married in 1995 and settled in Savona, Italy where he pursued his passion for creativity as the owner of a florist shop. Daniele became a father in 1997 when daughter Emma was born. The role of being a husband and father was one he cherished for the rest of his life.
In 2000, Daniele and family relocated to the US where he took on the role of stay-at-home Dad. Daniele and his wife welcomed their second daughter Victoria (Vicki) in 2002. Once the girls were school age, Daniele took on the position of annotator at IBM from which he eventually retired in 2022.
Daniele’s love for the sea, soccer, cars and motorcycles reflected his versatile spirit. He was a passionate fan of the Inter Milan soccer team, Formula 1 racing (Forza Ferrari) and Superbike Grand Prix racing. Daniele also found great joy in music with David Bowie and Bryan Ferry among his favorites. However, his greatest happiness came from spending time with family and friends, whose lives he touched deeply with his love, warmth and humor.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Tracy Jarc; his cherished daughters, Emma and Victoria Rosso; and his dear cousin, Luigina Ciarlo.
A Celebration of Life will be held with close family and friends in mid-May. Please contact Tracy, Emma or Vicki for details.
Daniele will be remembered with love and missed beyond words.
