

Edward "Ed" Patrick Langan passed away peacefully in his home on March 7, 2025. Born to Margaret and Charles Langan on June 26, 1940 in Manhattan, NY, Ed grew up in the Bronx as the youngest sibling to his older sister Betty and brother Charlie.
Ed proudly served his country in the US Army National Guard from 1958 to 1965. The early part of his career as an accountant allowed him to travel extensively throughout the United States. After meeting the love of his life, Barbara, he settled down and built a beautiful life with her. Together they raised two sons, Ed Jr. and Dan, in Croton on Hudson, where he remained a resident for many years. Before retiring, he was known as a well-respected and honest car salesman in the Croton area.
A man of compassion and dedication, Ed devoted himself to caring for others. In his retirement years, he found purpose and joy in volunteering at Sky View Nursing Home, bringing comfort and companionship to its residents. Ed was a person of deep faith and a dedicated member of Holy Name of Mary and St. Augustine's churches. In his later years, he took daily walks at Croton Landing, where his friendly nature helped him form connections with many community members.
Ed was predeceased by his beloved wife Barbara, his eldest son Ed Jr., his brother Charlie, and his sister Betty. He is survived by his son Daniel and daughter-in-law Maria. He leaves behind a legacy of service, kindness, and unwavering devotion to his family, community, and faith.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 14, 2025 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at the Edward F. Carter Funeral Home, 41 Grand St., Croton-on-Hudson, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 15th at Holy Name of Mary Church in Croton-on-Hudson, NY. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery, also in Croton.
