OBITUARY
James M. Piperakis
July 14, 1939 – March 24, 2021
James "Jimmy" Piperakis, 81 of Croton-on-Hudson, NY, passed away peacefully on March 24th, 2021 after a courageous battle with cancer.
James was born on July 14, 1939, in Piraeus, Greece to Theologia (Bourni) and Michael Piperakis of Pireaus, Greece.
Jimmy proudly served his country in the Greek Navy before beginning his life in America in 1956. He has been a Croton resident for over 60 years and lived the American dream. Many will remember him as the always smiling Jimmy, the owner of the Stony Point Diner in Stony Point, NY.
On January 11, 1971, Jimmy married the love of his life, Voula (Kyriazakou) Piperakis in their hometown of Piraeus, Greece. He would bring his wife to New York soon after to begin their lives together. This year they celebrated 50 years of marriage.
Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents, sister, Maria Matsakis, and brother-in-law, George. His memory will live on with his loving wife, Voula, daughters Gia (Peter) McCarron, Stacy (Kosta) Sofos, and grandchildren Alexandra, Peter, Olivia, James, Demetra, and George, and brother Niko and sister-in-law, Margarita.
The family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider making a donation to Hospice Care Northwell at Home (Westchester) or Saint Basils Academy (Garrison).

My mother, Irene Kearney was a neighbor. Whenever she would see Jimmy on his walks in the neighborhood he was so sweet to her. He was always a highlight of her day. He was a kind man. May his memory be a blessing

I am very sorry to hear about the passing of James.
Will miss his smile and some of the memories of growing up in Pireaus Greece.
It was a pleasure getting to know him and Stavroula in St. Basil's.
I am sorry that will not be able to attend the funeral service because I am still in Florida but I want Voula and his family to know that my thoughts and prayers are with them.
God keep you all well to remember James.
