Mariano D. “Skip” Palmietto of Croton on Hudson, NY passed away on Monday, August 5, 2019 at the age of 69. Skip was born to Michael and Helen (Miller) Palmietto on June 26, 1950 in Peekskill, NY. He married his beloved wife Denise (Miller) Palmietto on September 2nd, 1990. Mariano worked for Con Edison as a lineman for 41 years. He was a member of the Peekskill Elks Lodge.

Mariano is survived by his wife Denise Palmietto, his children Christopher and Ashley Palmietto, by his brother Michael Palmietto (Maureen), and sisters Maryanne Palmietto and Delia Hinman (Richard) and by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter Tara in December 1995.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 7, 2019 from 5-9pm at Edward F. Carter Funeral Home, 41 Grand St., Croton-on-Hudson, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am on Thursday, August 8th at Holy Name of Mary Church, Croton on Hudson, NY with burial to follow at Bethel Cemetery also in Croton.

In lieu of flowers please make donations to Mariano’s favorite charity, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, www.stjude.org

Condolences to the Palmietto family on the passing of your loved one Skip. I met him over 30 yrs.ago as I worked at the Elks. Skip always was the kindness caring person that I ever met. I’m remembering the last time I think we met up together... it was the Christmas season and getting closer to the day... I’m inside the Jefferson Valley Mall and waiting for the stores to open... I hear hey Ricky!.. it’s Skip, smiles and happy to see a very familiar face, hey Skip!... we chatted about family and getting those gifts... he knew what he wanted to buy, kids ect. ... nice time to meet a family man and good person...
